Graphic Design

Graphic Design is one of my stronger areas in com tech. I enjoy the creative and outside the box thinking you are required to use. I've considered going into a future career involving graphic designs. This semester in com tech we have finished to different assignments using graphic design, such as our personal logo designs and 25th Anniversary DVD case.

PERSONAL LOGO DESIGN

For my logo design I used the program Adobe Illustrator on IMAC computers. The idea for my logo is my initials and then a little symbol that I thought would match me the best. Instead of just using my initials “JM”, I wrote my initials out the way they sounded to look more interesting “JayEm”. I used the symbol of a basic flower to show how my personality is much like spring, everyday i am still 'blooming' and how I enjoy the nice weather and sunshine. I also chose the colours I used because the colour purple is my number one favourite colour, and then I picked the other ones because I love all bright and eye catching colours. I thought it would show my out-going, creative, open, and positive personality. In illustrator I started out with the basic paint brush to make my shapes and lines, then used effects, tools, and colouring to spice things up.
                                                                                                                                                      DVD CASE COVER
The Holy Cross 25th Anniversary cover case was more work, and layers. I set up the lay out for the cover in Adobe Photoshop and then started working away on backgrounds, texts, and images. I imported images from disc and thought of an interesting way to lay them out in a creative form that represented Holy Cross. I chose school colours for the backgrounds and borders.
